Air Asia Manfaat kejohanan Piala Dunia

Syarikat penerbangan tambang murah terkemuka Asia, AirAsia berpandangan bahawa penyatuannya dengan kejohanan Ping Pong Piala Dunia Wanita satu platform meningkatkan pendedahan kepada jenamanya di rantau Asia terutamanya China.
Kejohanan itu yang dianjurkan buat pertama kali oleh Malaysia bakal menyaksikan pemain pilihan utama wanita di dunia bertanding. Ia akan diadakan di Stadium Badminton Kuala Lumpur bermula dari 8 September 2008. Menerusi sokongan terhadap kejohanan ini sebagai penganjur bersama, kami juga mahu memanfaatkan populariti sukan ini untuk memberitahu lebih banyak orang tentang jenama AirAsia, Datuk Tony Fernandes dalam satu kenyataan semalam.
Sebelum ini, AirAsia telah mewujudkan perkongsian dengan kelab gergasi England, Manchester United dan ini merupakan salah satu rakan kongsi pasukan Formula Satu (F1) AT&T Williams.
Kejohanan Piala Dunia Wanita Ping Pong ini dianjurkan dengan kerjasama Persekutuan Ping Pong Antarabangsa (ITTF) dan Persatuan Ping Pong Malaysia (TTAM). Sebagai rekod, Kejohanan Piala Dunia Wanita mula diadakan di Hong Kong pada tahun 1996.

Player Jailed for sex - video blackmail

A former Manchester City youth goalkeeper was jailed for 20 months on Friday for blackmailing a Premier League player by threatening to sell a sex video.
Ashley Timms demanded US$26,400 between March and April from International player, who was not named for legal reasons at Manchester Crown Court. It has really made me feel I can't trust anyone and I feel quite insecure and if I meet anyone now, I constantly feel they're after my money, the player said in the statement to the court.

Timms used a mobile phone to video the player having sex with a 19 year old woman at the players home last September. Timms, whose friendship with the player had wanned as his own career faltered, pestered him for cash to use as a deposit on a house in return for selling him the video.
The abuse of your friendship for simple greed is an aggravating feature," judge Andrew Gilbart told the court. "This was a calculated attempt to extract money for your own benefit". Timms said he destroyed the video footage, which was never recovered.

Commonsense Has Never Been FAM's Forte

Here's a fact that should surprise no one. Malaysian football is in doldrums. Nobody really cares - not the fans,who have been staying away, not the sponsors, and what the hell, not even the keepers of the nation's football, FAM.

Yes, not even FAM. Why else would the FAM choose to hold their prized tournament - the Malaysia Cup final - on Aug 23, the punultimate day of the Beijing Olympics, when everyone was watching the USA final winninng relays - in the 4X400m.

The Malaysia Cup is the football tournament in Malaysia. It was highly regarded by fans and players alike. The stadiums that hoosted the final were packed to the brim. Fans aroumd the country were glued to the TV watching the match. In early days, fans had transistor radios up against their ears as excited commentators shouted out the proceedings.

The Malaysia Cup was the English Premier Leagues FA Cup. The malaysia Cup has History. It dates back to 1921. Some of the biggest names in Malaysia/Singapores football have the coveted Cup over the years. And it is still the most coveted and cherished Cup in the country. The newspapaer used to lap up the Malaysia Cup final, with three, four and sometimes even five pages in the run-up to the final.

The final itself was a back page lead event. But not this year. With the Beijing Olympics now acknowledge as the greatest games ever, going on, the Cup final was a non event. The FAM could have, in fact should have been more receptive to the happenings around the world. Couldn't they have put off the final day by a week ? That would have given the media ample time, space and oppurtunity to buildup the Cup final fever to a crescendo. But who are we kidding ? The FAM obviously think they have a product that's bigger than anything, the Olympics, The World Cup or even the European Championship.

The FA Cup this year was held during the Euros while the Malaysia Cup was held during the World Cup in Japan-South Korea. The FAM of course, have no need for the media to raise the profile of their product. It wasn't just the Malaysia Cup final. The National Football Awards, sponsored by 100Plus, to honiour players who made their mark in the Malaysian League-encompassing the Super League, FA Cup and Malaysia Cup, this season was held just hours before the Cup final. And what about the sponsors? All that money. All that effort. and they got next to no mileage in the newspaper as the country and the world were tuned to Beijing.

Held at any other time, the occasion would have garnered much wider coverage. As if having the award ceremony and Cup final on the FAM congress was also held on the same day. The press had always had access to the FAM Congress. This time, they were shut out. The world was not to know about what was going on in the FAM.

In fact, no one can figure out what is going on in the FAM. The logic and sense of timing boggles the mind. Commonsense dictates that the best course of action would have been to postpone the Cup final. But since when was commonsense a forte of FAM ? If it was, Malaysian football wouldn't be in the doldrums, would it? At their height, Malaysia were ranked n0. 79 in the world in 1993. Now, we are No 161 - below even the likes of Maldives, Solomon Islands, Vanuatu, Fiji and Hong Kong. There are (204) teams in the listing. We have some 40 places to go before hitting the rock bottom.

BAM tumpu aspek Sains Sukan

Belajar daripada majoriti kehampaan Sukan Olimpik lalu, Persatiuan Badminton Malaysia (BAM) kini mahu lebih teliti memerhatikan pemain-pemain skuad negara.

Pemerhatian itu bukan bermakna lebih mengongkong pemain tetapi disebalik kian kerap timbulnya isu-isu disiplin membabitkan mereka tetapi lebih kepada usaha memastikan setiap aspek persiapan diterokai semaksimum mungkin.

Apa bakal dilakukan ialah memastikan BAM kenal pemain dengan lebih teliti. ia termasuk menyediakan profil penuh pemain dengan mengambil kira aspek kekuatan dan kelemahan pemain demi tujuan peningkatan, kata setiausaha agung BAM Ganga Rao.

Ia sekaligus bermakna BAM akan lebih memberi penekanan terhadap aspek sains sukan dalam penyediaan profil pemain. Untuk ianya dijayakan, BAM akan meminta bantuan dan kerjasama daripada MSN dan ISN termasuk membantu pembelajaran jurulatih serta pendidikan pemain kearah mencapai matlamat itu.

Ia sejajar pengumuman Presiden BAM yang membayangkan perkara kecil tyerlepas pandang mungkin menyumbang kepada kegagalan membawa pulang pingat emas sulung daripada temasya lalu. Ganga turut membayangkankemungkinan tiadanya rombakan besar-besaran terhadap struktur kejurulatihan sedia ada, kecuali penekanan terhadap aspek sains sukan.

Ketika ini, BAM masih perlukan masa untuk mengkaji daripada semua aspek, termasuk cadangan rombakan struktur kejurulatihan itu. Penelitian itu bakal merangkumi penekanan terhadap penyediaan profil pemain-pemain dalam skuad utama, terutama mereka yang dikenalpasti bakal mendokong cabaran negara untuk bersaing dalam persiapan menghadpai Sukan Olimpik 2012 di London nanti.

Roslinda rayu khidmat Jurulatih dikekalkan

Kuala Lumpur - Jaguh Lompat bergalah negara, Roslinda Samsu merayu agar khidmat jurulatihnya, Gennady Potapovich dikekalkan dalam usha mempertahankankejuaraan Asia, tahun depan. bagaimanapun, Kesatuan Olahraga amatur Malaysia (KOAM) dikatakantidak berminat menyambung kontrak Potapovich, yang akan berakhir pada 30 September ini.

Menurut Roslinda , dia sudah menghantar surat rayuan kepada KOAM dan MSN meminta agar jurulatih dikekalkan dan berharap permohonan tersebut akan mendapat maklum balas positif. Dia juga meminta KOAM dan MSN supaya membuat keputusan dengan segera kerana dia mahu memulakan program persiapan 2009 secepat mungkin selepas menamatkan cabaran pada Kejohanan Olahraga Majlis Sukan Universiti Malaysia (MASUM), Disember ini.
