The UPC Arena was called the Arnold Schwarzenegger-stadion when it was opened after the city's favourite son. The name change was put forward by the people of Graz to protest to Schwarzenegger's implicit endorsement of death penalty : days later, Schwarzenegger himself forbade the Stadium from bearing his name. The 15,400 capacity can and is increased to 16,000 for Champions League games. Interestingly enough, SK Sturn Graz and Grazer Ak played their 125th derby to mark the opening of this stadium.
