Attend congress, sports enthusiasts urged

KUALA LUMPUR: High costs have always been a reason why many miss out on sports conferences held overseas.
Well, fret no more because the 12th World Sports for All Congress will be held at our own doorstep - in Genting Highlands - from Nov 3-6.
And the Olympic Council of Malaysia (OCM) have urged all sports enthusiasts - whether directly or indirectly involved in Malaysian sports - to sign up for the conference.
Malaysia is only the second Asian country to host the biennial Congress, which will see the participation of to speakers, academicians and sports enthusiasts from all over the world and top administrators from the International Olympic Committee (IOC).
OCM secretary Sieh Kok Chi said the Congress would also act as a platform for participants to do networking and exchange ideas with peers from all over the world.
“It is a great medium for one to upgrade their knowledge in sports. It is not only open to the NSAs (National Sports Association) but to anyone who enjoys sports and wants to contribute to the development of sport,” said Kok Chi.
The OCM have also come out with a special three-day package in a bid to boost local participation.
“We have come up with a good deal for the participants that includes accommodation and food. It will only cost RM800 per person.”
